BRUCE BURGESS TO RELEASE INSTRUCTIONAL DRUM LANGUAGE DVD

Bruce Burgess has begun work on his first Instructional Drum DVD entitled Drum Language. This amazing 90 minute Instructional video is designed to help both intermediate to advanced drummers. Topics include: warm-ups, drum set assembly, mic'ing techniques live and in the studio, double-bass techniques, odd time signatures, grooves and phrasing, advanced syncopation, linear drumming, and much much more. Bruce also explains in great detail how he took traditional rock drumming and applied it to world music, like he did on the debut Drum Dynasty CD. Bruce will be performing several songs off of Drum Dynasty, and will walk you through how to fuse both acoustical and electronic drum elements together into a single syncopated layer. It's a technique Bruce likes to call Drum Language. Release date of Drum Language Summer 2010.

ABOUT THE COVER ART The Persian Roundel was crafted by the Achaemenid goldsmiths during the Achaemenid Period (404-359 B.C.) during the Reign of Artaxerxes in a territory know today as Iran. It depicts a snarling winged lion worked in gold repoussé, and showcases the exceptional skill of the Achaemenid goldsmiths. The back of the horned feline's body and the slender twisted cord that surrounds it bear sixteen tiny loops for attachment to a garment or textile. Greek writers often speak of the tremendous wealth of the Persians, and Herodotus writes that King Xerxes' troops "were adorned with the greatest magnificence, glittering with gold." The Persian Roundell is on display at the Oriental Art Institute of Chicago, which prides itself in it's rich collection of artifacts from Egypt, Mesopotamia, Iran, Syria, Palestine, and Anatolia.
